CAVE IN ROCK- Roy H Davidson, 66 of Cave in Rock, Illinois went home to be with the Lord at 11:30 am Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Marion Veterans Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 25, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Cave in Rock with Reverend Arthur Austin, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be made to the family. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Roy was born on September 22, 1943, in Hardin County to the late Outher and Mildred Agent Davidson. Roy married Carolyn Leavell on July 30, 1965. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary later this month.

Roy accepted the Lord as his Saviour at age 16. He began his ministry in 1972. He pastored five churches, won many people to the Lord, and made a wonderful impression to every person that he met. He never met a stranger. The love of his life was his God, and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Lisa (Alan) Miles of Junction; two granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah; two brothers, Alan Davidson of Eldorado and Richard Davidson of Flint, Michigan; four sisters, Ann (William), Kay (Paul) Fillmore both of Aurora; Connie Vinyard of Galatia, Mary Lou (Tom) Lemons of McLeansboro; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Anderson and Paul Henry Davidson; two sisters, Linda Hicks and Pearl Layfette.
