MARION-Edna L. Howell, 89, of Marion passed away at 10:33 PM, Friday, July 30, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with her son, Victor Stone officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available through the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Edna was born April 17, 1921 in Marion to George Franklin and Stella Ann (Conley) Smith. She was married to Leslie Stone, Samuel Earl Patterson and Joe Howell; all of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Eugene and Donna Stone of Marion, Dorothy and Donnie Odom of Eddyville, Kentucky, Leslie and Pam Stone of Rockford, Victor and Cindy Stone of the Lake of Egypt and Dan and Jacqueline Stone of West Frankfort; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Brenda Joyce Wedding; grandchildren, Jerry Harris and Sheila Stone; five brothers; and four sisters.
Edna was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading her Bible and helping everyone in anyway she could.
