Marion- Marie Fisher, 92, of Marion passed away at 8:40 AM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Bennie Fisher and Reverend Barry Roberts officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959.

Mrs. Fisher was born on September 22, 1918 in Williamson County, IL to Edgar & Esta (Cash) Walker. She married Herman Fisher; he preceded her in death on November 29, 1970.

Survivors include her children, Larry Fisher of Marion, and Linda & Larry Roberts of Marion; grandchildren, Laura & Steven Lerch of Marion, Michael & Charlotte Fisher of Riverton, Brian & Kim Roberts of Carterville, Barry & Vanessa Roberts of Carterville, and Brad & Jennifer Roberts of Marion; great-grandchildren, Seth, Noah, Ashley, Emily, Ryan, Jordan, Courtney, Briana, Branda, Justin, Chandler, and Benjamin; and sister, Flora Mae Fowler of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Sally Fisher; brother, Leroy Walker; grandson, Johnie Lamar Fisher

Mrs. Fisher was a member of Parrish Park Baptist Church. She loved to make quilts. She was a very good cook for her family and would make something special for everyone. She sat with the elderly and took care of their families. She will be missed by all who knew her.
