GOREVILLE-Ira Smith, Jr., 84, of Goreville passed away at 7:30 AM, Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Pastor Eddie Pullen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville.
Mr. Smith was born May 30, 1922 in Carterville, Illinois to Ira and Mintie (Stokes) Smith. He married Nora Lee McCollum.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Lee of Goreville; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dan Augustyniak of Ottawa; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Carol Smith of Chicago, Bill Smith of Goreville, Randy and Karyn Smith of Hickory Hills, and Ken and Tammy Smith of Goreville; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Smith worked as a carpenter. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
