MARION-Mary H. Malone, 90, of Marion passed away at 12:35AM, Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Herrin City Cemetery with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mary was born on September 1, 1919 in Golconda to Otis Lee and Leora Viola (Severa) Jennings.
Survivors include her children, Bobby and Rosa Hodge, Rosemary and Roy Kennedy, Jimmy Hodge, Judy and Jim Gentile and Helen and Bill Deaton; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Hodge; daughter, Peggy Askew; two brothers; and one sister..
Mary was a homemaker and had previously worked at Smolers in Herrin. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Shawnee Christian Nursing Home for the loving care that was given to Mary.
