Leslie "Boomer" Snyder

Marion- Leslie "Boomer" Snyder, 66, passed away at 7:23am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home in Marion. Boomer was born on August 20, 1949 in Herrin to George and Maxine (Farmer) Snyder.  He married Bonnie Steward; she survives of Marion. Boomer was a US Army Vietnam Veteran.  He was a retired police officer and detective for the City of Marion.  Boomer was the former organizer and head of the Williamson County Major Case Squad. He was a member of the F.O.P and a life member of VFW Post 1301 in Marion. Survivors include: Wife-Bonnie Snyder of Marion Son-Mark and Teresa Snyder of Marion Son-Mike and Sarah Snyder of Oklahoma Grandchildren-Trevor, Gavin, Josh, Derek, Ryan and Tyler Brother-Bob and Diane Snyder of Biloxi, MS Niece-Brittany Nephews-Chris, Rob and Andy Aunt-Wanda Shively He also leaves behind five fur babies Boomer was preceded in death by his parents Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with a police officer walk through then his brother Bob will say a few words.  The service will conclude with Military Rites being performed by the Marion VFW Post 1301 with assistance from the National Guard.  Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
