Alice Marie Thompson

Marion-Alice Marie Thompson, 62, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Alice was born on May 11, 1958 in Marion to George and Mary Ruth (Tompkins) Smart.  She married Bobby Thompson on May 15, 1976.  He preceded her in death on August 16, 2012.

Alice was a homemaker and attended Word of Life Church in Herrin and also played the piano there.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jeffrey Smart and Stephen Smart; sister, Teresa Ann Smart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Chaplain Danny Killman officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the service are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
