Andrea Delores Emery

Marion-Andrea Delores Emery, 61, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Andrea was born in Marion on December 10, 1957 to Andrew “Andy” and Delores (Walker) Jones. She married Lindell Dean Emery in Elizabethtown on November 22, 1972. Andrea was a stay at home mother until she went to work at the Marion High School as a cook for 25 years. She retired in 2003. Andrea was a member of the Christian Church and enjoyed sitting out in the back yard, going on cruises and going to play bingo with family and friends.

Sister-Sandy Arnold and husband Kevin of Swansea

Sister-April McGee of Millstadt

Uncle-James “Jim” Jones and wife Norma of Belleville

Grandchildren-Gayla, Andrew, Tyler and Elijah Orrill of Mt. Vernon and Madison and William Emery of Marion

Many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

She was preceded in death by her father.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois, Dr. Jack Keller and the staff and doctors at Washington University Hospital.

Andrea’s wishes were to be donated to SIU School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 12pm at the Johnston City Christian Church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the family c/o Lindell Emery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
