Barbara Lou Carroll

Barbara Lou Carroll, age 93, of Goreville, Illinois, passed away at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her home in Goreville, Illinois, surrounded by loved ones.

Barbara was born December 12, 1927 in Saline County, Illinois, a daughter of Clint and Geneva (White) Jones. She married the love of her life, William M. "Bill" Carroll on October 05, 1947 in Folkston, Georgia. Together, with her husband, they owned and operated the Carroll Food Market in Goreville since 1971. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2010.

Mrs. Carroll was a woman of faith and a devout Christian. She deeply loved her family, especially treasuring her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and watching them grow up.

She is survived by two sons, William C. "Bill" Carroll (Peggy) of Goreville and Steve L. Carroll (Mary Beth) of Goreville, IL; four grandchildren, Tara Silvestri (Vic) of Brentwood, TN, Steve W. Carroll of Goreville, IL, Clinton Carroll of Goreville, IL, and Megan Carroll (Jack Hope) of Kansas City, MO; her Great-grandchildren, Sophia, Victor, John, Ty, and River; Brother- John L. Jones (Kay) of Goreville; and three sisters-in-law, Jean Doudy of Daytona Beach, FL, Jeanette Philmon of Atlanta, GA, and Gwen Jones of Orlando, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, William M. "Bill" Carroll; her parents, Clint and Geneva Jones; and three siblings, Betty Proctor, Bob Jones, and Jim Jones.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Todd Greiner officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Goreville. Blue Funeral Home - Goreville is assisting the family with arrangements.
