Bennie Ray Arrowood

Bennie Ray Arrowood, age 86, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at his home in Marion, Illinois.

Bennie was born July 01, 1937 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a son of Tyrus and Muriel (Mede) Arrowood. He married the love of his life, Melva Hudgens on August 23, 1953 in Goreville, Illinois. Bennie moved to Marion when he was a young boy. He owned and operated Arrowood's Trash Removal service for 17 years. He loved fishing, mowing, gardening and spending time with his family. Bennie attended church at Kingdom Hall in Marion, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife Melva Arrowood of Marion, IL; three children, Barbara (Shane) Haum of Marion, IL, Debra Adamson of Marion, IL, and Bennie Arrowood Jr. of Marion, IL; eight grandchildren, Chelsie Adamson of Marion, IL, Haley Deaton of Herrin, IL, Brodie (Kylee) Blades of Marion, IL, Brandi Blades of Marion, IL, Brandon (Heldi) Arrowood of Carterville, IL, Christopher (Mckenzie) Nalley of Herrin, IL, Miranda (BJ) Collins of Lake Of Egypt, IL, and Benjamin (Lana) Smith of Herrin, IL; seven great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Gary (Jolene) Arrowood of Marion, IL, Garold Arrowood of Carrier Mills, IL, Ty Arrowood of South Bend, IN, and Byrus Arrowood of Warsaw, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tyrus and Muriel Arrowood.
