Betty Gilbert

Herrin-Betty June Gilbert, 67, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. Betty was born on October 7, 1950 in Johnston City to Carl and Virginia (Robertson) Jarvis. She was an LPN at the VA Hospital for 17 years and a few area nursing homes. When her health started to fail, she enjoyed playing bingo. Betty was a member of Park Ave Church of God in Herrin. Survivors include: Daughter-Amber Burks and special friend Ronnie Evans Sisters-Carla Chamness of Herrin and Barbara and Kenneth Dale Malone of Marion Five nieces Four great nieces Two great nephews Two great great nieces One great great nephew She was preceded in death by her parents Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Micheal DuPriest Officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
