Bobby Gulledge

July 14, 1929 — February 3, 2016

Marion-Bobby Gene Gulledge, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11:15pm at his home surrounded by his family. Bobby was born on July 14, 1929 in Marion to Charlie and Vera (Shambough) Gulledge.  He married Frances Grimes on August 19, 1953 in Corinth, Mississippi.  She survives of Marion. Bobby was in the US Army and served in Korea.  He was a graduate of SIUC and retired as a school teacher after 35 years of service.  Bobby was a member of 1st Baptist Church.  He was an avid music lover, enjoyed traveling with family and friends, loved sports and was a former coach. Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Survivors include: Wife-Frances Gulledge Son-Gordon Dale Gulledge and wife Jane Daughter-Frances Ann Jenkel and husband James Daughter-Melanie Jean Baker Grandchildren: Jason Gulledge Aaron Gulledge Ashley Marie and John Jordan Sarah Jean Baker Great granddaughter-Makiah Dawn Baker Brother-Jim “Tapper” Gulledge and wife Toni Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Ann Bushemi and granddaughters, April Marie Jenkel and Holly Lynn Baker. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. James Jenkel officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11am. Military Rites will be performed by the Marion VFW with assistance from the National Guard.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
