Bobby Ray McGregory, Sr.

January 13, 1958 — July 22, 2020

Bobby Ray McGregory, Sr. was born on January 13, 1958 to Grady McGregory, Sr., and Willie Mae McGregory. Bobby confessed his love in Christ at an early age.  He was baptized and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church in Blackfish, Arkansas.  He attended Earle Elementary School and then furthered his education at Crawfordsville High School.

On April 12, 1990 he married Christine Gunn McGregory.  To this union two children were born, Christopher McGregory and Bobby Ray McGregory, Jr. He also raised Lashawn, Arnita and Tyricia as his own.  Bobby was full of life.  He loved to hunt, fish, and build.  He was very talented and could build anything that he set his mind to.  He also loved to work on cars.  Bobby was known in his neighborhood as “Mechanic Bob.”

He received his wings on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 2:10pm surrounded by love with his family.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Willie Mae McGregory; brother, Homer McGregory and daughter, Ella Mae McGregory.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Christine McGregory; five sons, Dante (Cassandra), Christopher, Bobby, Jr., Jordan and Devon; six daughters, Destiny (Dee Dee), Alexis, Leigha, Whitney, Mariah and Jasmine; five brothers, Joe McGregory, Grady McGregory, Jr., Dale McGregory, Grady McGregory III (Regina) and James McGregory (Sarah); seven sisters, Vera Douglass, Jean Jones, Joann Collins, Deborah Jennings, Linda Mobley, Pamela Cobbs (Aaron) and Renee McGregory; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild that he loved so much.  Three favorite nieces that he truly adored, Danielle, Denisha and Darielle; one favorite nephew, Darryl Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Marion on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5 pm until 8 pm.  The funeral service will be private.

Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the visitation are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and the wearing of masks is encouraged.
