Marion- Bud Henson, age 80, of Marion, passed away at 1:41am on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Integrity Healthcare of Marion, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Lowell Lee Henson on May 5, 1939, the son of Loren “Knub” and Georgia Lee (White) Henson. He married Janette Fay Long in Centralia on August 9, 1975. She survives in Marion.
Bud was a member of the Christian Covenant Church in Carterville. He had retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation where he had worked as a Civil Engineer.
Survivors include his wife- Jan Henson of Marion
Son- Doug Corzine and wife Deborah of Franklin, TN
Daughter- Cris Corzine-McCloskey and husband Nathan of Marion
Son- Derek Henson and wife Emily of University City, MO
Loved as a son- Brian Rich of Marion
Three Grandchildren- Thomas, Zachary, and Samuel Henson of University City, MO
Sister- Delores Gleckler and husband Dave of Salem
Brother- Ron Henson of Freeport
Four Nephews- David DeMaris of Austin, TX
Dana DeMaris of Centralia
C.J. Holthaus of Round Rock, TX
Quinn Henson of Houston, TX
Niece- Melody Henson of Freeport
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Christian Covenant Church (1025 S. Division Street) in Carterville with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Christian Covenant Church in Carterville.
For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Caring Counseling Ministries or Agape Christian School and will be accepted at the church or the funeral home.
