Sedalia, MO-Carl E, Thetford, 77, formerly of Marion, IL, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home. Born June 26, 1939 in Marion, IL, he was the son of the late Charles Roy and Etha Nell (Lanom) Thetford. On June 22, 1961 in France, he was united in marriage to Liliane H. Dunoye, who preceded him in death on February 1, 2007. Mr. Thetford was raised and educated in Marion, IL. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a plant operator for 23 years with the Sedalia Water Department. Surviving are a sister, Myrle Ann Upchurch (Joe), of Marion, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Thetford; and two sisters, Ruth Hudgens and Retha James. A visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, MO. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
