Carolyn Sue Ingram, age 75, of Goreville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 1:34 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Carolyn was born on October 3, 1944 in Carterville, the middle child of three siblings, a daughter of Charles and Alma (Chambliss) Gulley. She married C.B. Vaughn on October 21, 1961 and to this union two daughters, Barbara Kay Fletcher and Tammy Sue Eubank, were born. She later married Bill C. Ingram on June 13, 1975 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2006 after 31 years of marriage. Carolyn worked for H & H Fuel in Goreville for the last 18 years and held many roles during her work there – cook, cashier and manager. She was very well loved by her customers and coworkers and will be sorely missed by the members of the community. Carolyn was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Goreville and was known for cooking and baking, especially making chicken and dumplings for nearly every church meal. She loved spending time with her family – her church family, as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Fletcher of Thompsonville and Tammy (Craig) Eubank of Lake City, Kansas; four step children, Beverly Ingram and Bruce Ingram, both of Carterville, Bobby (Sue) Ingram of Desoto and Bryan (Carla) Ingram of Murphysboro; her grandchildren, Jamie Sue (Tyler) Thimesch, Jacob Todd (Kirstin) Bertram, Blane Nicole Bertram, Walter David Bertram, Joshua David Bertram, Curtis David Bertram, Brandy Ingram, Bryan (Emily) Ingram, Jr., Brandon Ingram, Aaron Ingram, Terry Young and Chris Sweet; her great-grandchildren, Scott, Brynn, Olivia, Carter Jacob, Hayes, Barrett Jamynn, Wyatt, Saylor, Preston, Eathan, Ashley, Emmalee, Carter David, Joshlynn and Joeleena; her sister, Charlene Taylor; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Kay Gulley; her two fur babies, Teka and Tilley; her best friends, Carl and Jean Henderson of Goreville; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Ingram; and her brother, Tommy Joe Gulley.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Friendship Cemetery in Goreville on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend R.G. Null officiating.
Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the service are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with final arrangements.
