Goreville-Cary A. Farren, 72, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home.
Cary was born on November 3, 1942 in Smoot, WV to Homer Dixon and Stella Saphronia (Dotson) Farren, Sr. He married Joan Hall on August 19, 1982 in Spencer County, KY. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2007.
Cary was in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a Senior Customer Service Agent for Delta Airlines in Chicago. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Survivors include-children, Scott and Mindy Farren of Goreville; Tina and Dave Osborne of Indianapolis, IN; Brian and Carolyn Farren of Mahomet and Virginia and Mark Guizer of Elgin; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Irene Rogers, Charles Farren, Joseph Farren, Bob Farren, Nancy Farren and Cary Alexander Farren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers and sisters, Carroll Farren, Homer Dixon Farren, Jr., John Farren, James Farren, Mary Farren, Shirley Farren and Samuel Farren
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11am at Goreville United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Manier and Pastor Ed Hoke officiating. Entombment will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be performed by the Herrin VFW and the Herrin American Legion with assistance from the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the church.
