Marion-Charles Howell, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center.
Charles was born on August 6, 1934 in Goreville to Oras and Reola (Parrish) Howell.
Charles was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church, ELKS, VFW and the IBEW. His hobbies included bowling, shooting pool, fishing, Sprint car racing, reading, listening to gospel music and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed baseball and loved to go to Cardinals and Miners games. Charles never met a stranger and loved to help everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine; sister, Louise Rich; step son, Tim Barnfield; grandson, Timmy Barnfield; son in law, Billy Hudgens; niece, Kenna Jean Corzine and nephew, Justin Howell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follow at McKinney Chapel Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the VFW with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be on Saturday from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
