Charles Norman

Marion-Charles W. Norman, 70, passed away at 9pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home. Charles was born on March 3, 1946 in Herrin to Albert and Nora (Reese) Norman.  He married Maudene Hilliard and she survives of Marion. Charles was in the US Navy serving in Vietnam on the “USS Collett.”  He was employed at the Southern Illinois Power Co-op for over 30 years and was a member of the IBEW #702 for 32 years.  Charles was of Protestant faith and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: Wife-Maudene Norman Step daughter-Teresa Odom and Tim Owens Step son-Michael and Shannon Odom Step son-Justin Elders Step son-Jay Elders and Toni French Four step grandchildren One step great grandchild He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant twin brother and his brother, Thomas Norman. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. April Turner officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant “Shed” Cemetery.  Military Rites will be performed by the Marion VFW with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will also be on Friday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
