Charles "Tom" Dawson

Charles “Tom” Dawson, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 18th, 2018.
He was a wonderful husband, Dad, brother, Paw-Paw, and Great Paw-Paw. He will be missed by all. He was a man that loved God and his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo W. Dawson, his Dad, Lowell Dawson, his Mom, Gladys Dawson Biggs, his Step Dad, Rolla Biggs, and brother, Larry Biggs.
Tom was born in Freeman Spur, IL on November 25, 1930 to Lowell and Gladys (McDaniel) Dawson. He was married for 65 years to his love, Jo W. Dawson (Miller).
He Left many who loved him dearly; two children and their spouses, Rick and Janet Dawson and Andra and Kevin Collier. His grandchildren; Amber Dale, David Dawson, Jon Dawson, Joe Dawson, Rich Dawson, Amy Turner and their families. His Great-Grandchildren; Mackenzie, Emma, Nataley, Lucas, Heidi, Claira, Summer, Maggie, and Allie. Also his brother, Richard Biggs, his sister, Joyce Biggs Deason, sister-in-law, Judy Biggs, Aunt Wilma Cook and their families.
Heaven is a sweeter place now that Dad is there.
Funeral services will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Carterville, IL on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Dawson and Pastor Glen Aulgur officiating. Burial will follow at Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort with military honors provided by the American Legion Orient and Zeigler Post and the VFW of West Frankfort. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21st, 2018 from 5- 8 p.m. in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL.
Memorial donations are suggested to the VA Hospice and Victory Baptist Church, and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home.
