Hardin KY-Charles W. Dempsey, 91, formerly of Marion, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home.
Charles was born on May 1, 1924 in Marion to Raymond and Lavine (Mangum) Dempsey. He married Venetia Floy Johns on March 14, 1942 in Jackson, MO. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2010.
Charles retired from General Motors in Pontiac, MI working in security. He was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora, KY. Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his sons, Charles R. and Sandra Kay Dempsey of Benton, KY and Virgil R. and Sharon Dempsey of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and sister, Jewell Woods of Marion.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
