Claude "Claudia" Elisabeth McCoy-Walker

Claude “Claudia” Elisabeth McCoy-Walker, age 93, of Marion, passed away at 10:45 pm on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Hawthorne Inn in Marion.

Claudia was born in Bois Colombes, France on July 15, 1926, the daughter of Gaston and Marthe (Tabour) Legat. She married Leonard McCoy in Akrin, Ohio on September 15, 1946. He preceded her in death in September of 1972. She later married Earl Walker in West Frankfort, Illinois on February 21, 1975. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2005.

She was a member of the First Church of God, Little Egypt Red Hats and Red Hats in Harmony. Claudia enjoyed spending her time painting.

Survivors include her children, Catherine Ziegler of Carbondale, Daryl McCoy of West Frankfort, Joyce and Donald King of Thompsonville, Corinne Stevenson of Johnston City; two step children, Bob and Joan McCoy of Stow, Ohio, Onalee Roberts of Dayton, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Nicholas McCoy, Mason McCoy, Sean and Lisa King, Devin and Tammy King, Lisa and Robbie Lindhorst, Leonard King, Michelle and Efren Canizales, Jason Steveson, Jeremy and Della Steveson, Joshua and Tori Steveson; seventeen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sister, Nicole Dixon; two son-in-laws, Howard Ziegler and Robert “Bob” Steveson; three step children, Marjorie Lane, Leonard Vernon McCoy, Helena Edwards.

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND BY THE SIGNING OF EXECUTIVE ORDER BY GOVERNOR J.B. PRITZKER, a private funeral service and visitation will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Phil Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort.
