David Michael Campbell

David Michael Campbell, age 83, of Creal Springs, Illinois,  passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home in Creal Springs, Illinois.

David was born May 15, 1939 in Creal Springs, Illinois, a son of Dennie and Dimple (Boyd)  Campbell.  He married Sue Ann Newbold on January 20, 1967.  David was born at home in Creal Springs and graduated Marion High School in 1957.  He joined the US Navy in 1958 and served eight yeas and three months.  In the Navy he worked with Electronics and Radar.  After his Navy hitch, he worked for GTE, then worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Post Office, until his retirement.  David had a passion for race horses.   

He is survived by his wife Sue Ann Campbell of Creal Springs, IL; two sons, Pat E. (Kellie) Campbell of Savannah, GA and Daniel R. Campbell of Creal Springs, IL; seven grandchildren,  and four great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennie and Dimple  Campbell.

Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with cremation.  No services are planned at this time for David M. Campbell.
