Donald "Curly" Francis

Goreville-Donald “Curly” Francis, 74 died at 4:00 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Curly was born in Johnson County, a home delivery, to Almus and Vivian (Kelley) Francis. He is survived by his children; Chris and Tina Francis of Goreville, IL, Sammy Francis of Marion, IL and Eric and Chrissy Francis of Crestone, CO, seven grandchildren; Jordan, Chandler, Logan,  Megan, Riley, Roman, and Corinthia, Four great grandchildren; Bryson, Trevor, Claire and Luna.  Four brothers; Aubrey and Donna Francis, Pete and Fran Francis, Rick and Ruby Francis and Steve and Lorna Francis all of Goreville, IL, Three sisters; Gussie and Bob Marlow of Salem, IL, Dorothy Pfeffer and Jean and Tom Tripp both of Goreville, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Sam Francis, two brothers-in-law, Bill Pfeffer and Delmar McNeil and one sister-in-law, Helen Francis. Curly was well known in the Goreville Community for his story telling and practical jokes and will be missed. Services will be at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, IL, with Rev. Null officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help with burial expenses.
