Donald Tisch

Marion-Donald Tisch, 89, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Donald was born on January 30, 1930 in Johnston City to Raymond and Lena (Rains) Tisch. He married Betty Brewer on July 25, 1959. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2014.

Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from GTE after several years of service. Donald was an active member and longtime deacon of First Baptist Church. He was also on the Board of Directors at the Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include:

Daughters-Vikki Swain and Stacey Tisch, both of Marion

Granddaughter-Makayla Arroyo

Brother-Bruce Tisch

Sister-Laverna Harrison

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and siblings, Dorothy Motsinger and Norman Tisch

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Marion VFW with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
