Dora Evelyn Smith

Marion-Dora Evelyn Smith, 96, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Integrity Healthcare in Marion. Dora was born on April 30, 1921 in Williamson County to Tom N. and Ethel N. (Woolsey) Gulley. She married Freeman Smith on May 9, 1942 in Cape Girardeau.  He preceded her in death on August 19, 1994. Dora was a factory worker at Smolers for many years and was also a Cottage Parent in Hurst through the State of Illinois. Dora was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include: Son-Luety Freeman Smith Daughter-Sheila Faye Gwodzik and husband John Arthur Grandchildren: Richard Smith Jason Gwodzik Kristi and Blake Kee Great grandson-Austin Smith She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers and four sisters. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11am at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
