Marion-Doris M. England, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 7th, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Doris was born on July 25, 1934 in Paragould, AR to Chester and Beatrice (Rogers) Cole. She married Nolan England on April 17, 1954 in Flint, MI with her father, Chester Cole officiating.
Doris attended First Baptist Church in Marion for many years and then attended Bethany Baptist Church after moving to Cape Girardeau. Doris loved spending time with her loving husband of 66 years and her family and friends. She was a great cook and never wanted you to leave a visit without eating something. Doris loved flowers, plants and gardening. She was the president of Women’s Club in Marion, president of Fort Nightly in Marion, as well as the hospital auxiliaries at Marion Memorial Hospital and Dexter Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cheryl Maynard; granddaughter, Laura Leffler and brother and sister in law, Dormand and Barbara Cole.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL with the funeral service officiated by Rev. Ralph Brandon beginning immediately afterward. Private burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crown Hospice/2858 Professional Ct./Cape Girardeau, MO 63703, who gave excellent, loving care to Doris and continued care to Nolan. Envelopes will also be available and accepted at the funeral home.
