Douglas Alan Davis

Douglas Alan Davis passed away on Tuesday July 7th, 2020 where he was truly a loved resident of Palm Terrace of Mattoon, IL. 

Doug was born on May 27, 1962 in Carbondale, IL to Gordon and LaVelle Davis.  He is survived by two sisters and their families.

Sister-Shelly Tyner, Jacob Tyner - soon to be, daughter Lillith Mae, Jackie Tyner (Dustin) & Raylan.

Sister-Lynn & Michael Cox-sons Michael & family, Kevin & family & Zachary -Grace, Juddsyn, & Jennings.

Doug was a very talented artistic craftsman. He always loved music especially classic rock.  As a teenager he ran track at Marion Junior High, where he won many trophies & set records for being so fast. His blue ribbon artwork & craftsmanship throughout his school years and into his life was entered in several art showings and local fairs. He loved motorcycles and racing in his younger years.  He also worked with auto body restoration. His passion was a 1972 El Camino which he restored and drove many miles. He had great skill to take an eyesore of an old tractor, antique or sports car, and turn it into a beauty. He also could create anything out of wood and always gifted someone with his treasures.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and LaVelle Davis. A brother- Dale Gene Davis.
 Grandparents- Laverne and Nola Marks. Also Granville (Doc) & Lucille Gordon.

A private graveside service was held Monday July 13, 2020.  Officiating the service was Rev. R.H. Chitwood and Rev. Michael Cox. Memorials may be made to Cambria Apostolic Church.
