Edith June Parent

MARION-Edith June Parent, 91, of Marion passed away at 6:15 PM, Sunday, February 6, 2005 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Richard Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Mrs. Parent was born on December 27, 1913 on a farm north of Galatia, Illinois to John and Elva (Perryman) Smith. She married Clyde Aaron, he preceded her in death and she later married Glenn Parent on October 20, 1954 and he survives. Other survivors include daughter-in-law, Joy Maxine Aaron of Carterville; grandchildren, Karen June Scruggs of Vienna, Deborah Lee Probert of Lewiston, Michigan, and Steven Dale Aaron of Herrin; great grandchildren, Tracey L. Bettinger of Metropolis, James W. Hood of Vienna, Steven M. Hood of the United States Navy, Norfolk, Virginia, and Michael Aaron Probert of Lewiston, Michigan; great great grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn and Rebecca June Bettinger; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; sons, James Lee Aaron and Harold Dale Aaron; five sisters; and three brothers. Mrs. Parent was a homemaker. She was a Charter Member of the Marion Eagles and a member of Woodmen of the World. She was of Baptist faith.
