Edna Billingsley

Marion-Edna Billingsley, 98, passed away at 4:55pm on Monday, December 14, 2015 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Edna was born on April 13, 1917 in Johnson County to Dow and Elizabeth (Breakbill) Thornton.  She married Lowell Billingsley on March 6, 1937 in Johnson County. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2001. Edna was a member of Goreville United Methodist Church.  She loved to cook, enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Survivors include: Daughter-Peggy Etheridge (Ted) of Marion Grandchildren-Jeff and Audrey Etheridge of Elgin and Allen Etheridge of Sycamore, IL Great grandchildren-Joey Etheridge, Andrew Etheridge and Tommy Etheridge Sister-Winnie McMillen of Marion Several nieces and nephews Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell; brothers, Bill Thornton and John Thornton and sisters, Ruth Calhoon and Hazel Billingsley Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1pm at Goreville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Hoke and Rev. Dale Billingsley officiating.  Burial will follow at Busby Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Friday from 11am until the time of service at the church.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
