Edna Smith

April 29, 1926 — February 23, 2016

Creal Springs-Edna A. Smith, 89, passed away at 9:22am on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Harrisburg Medical Center. Edna was born on April 29, 1926 in Creal Springs to Oscar and Mabel (Goodwin) Boyd.  She married John Adrian Smith on January 20, 1944 in Blytheville, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on April 23, 2001. Edna was a founding member and the oldest member of Community Chapel Church in Marion.  She was a former plant employee of Sangamo Electric and Allen’s, she worked as a school bus driver and also at Marion Memorial Hospital.  Edna enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.  She will be missed by all. Survivors include: Children: JoAnn and Roger D. Tanner of Creal Springs Billie Jean and Larry Troxel of Crab Orchard Becky and Laurel Johns of Creal Springs Shawn Adrian and Janet Smith of Vienna Grandchildren: Lonnie and Sandy Tanner Gail and Sam Blue Jason Tanner Scotty and Becky Troxel Matt and Jodi Troxel Nikki and Randy Foss Micah and Jeff Morrow Josh and Brandi Johns Shem and Tania Smith Cassie and Jacob Kearney 26 great grandchildren 9 great-great grandchildren Brother-Donald and Pat Boyd She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother and six sisters Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Don Colson and Rev. Matt Troxel officiating.  Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
