Faustino V. Pugeda

Dr. Faustino V. Pugeda, affectionately called Joe, died peacefully in his sleep on May 21, 2022.  He served as a general surgeon at the Marion Memorial Hospital from 1975 until his retirement in 2002, as well as a Hospital Board Member for several years.  He also served as a surgeon on a part-time basis at the Marion VA Hospital for a time after his retirement.  In 1984, he served as the President of the Williamson County Medical Society.  Joe was an original member of the Marion Medical Mission and provided surgical services for a month at a time in Africa, including Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi twice.  He also provided surgical services for a medical mission in the Philippines, his home country.

Joe is survived by his wife, Myrna; three children, Maria, Michael, and Christopher; daughters-in-law Amy and Sonia; and his beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Alexandra, Nate, Ava, Jake, Niecy, and great-grandson, Eli.  Joe enjoyed traveling around the globe, photographing nature and cultures of the world, relaxing at the beach or over a game of golf, as well as laughing and bonding with his grandchildren. 

No services, memorials, or visitations are planned per his request.
