Fred Cedar

Marion-Fred Charles Cedar, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Herrin Hospital.

Fred was born on August 9, 1934 in Chicago to Joseph John and Hannah (Shea) Cedar.  He married Darlene Clare Dolezich on August 30, 1958 at St. Augustine Church in Chicago.

Fred served in the U.S. Army and worked as an electrician for many years.

15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one on the way in April

Brother-Gus Cedar of SC

Brother-in-law-Richard Walsh of FL

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Cedar and Jack Cedar.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the service are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
