Marion- Gay L. Williams, 60, of Marion, passed away at 10:51 PM, Monday, March 20, 2017 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Gay was born on January 23, 1957 in Johnston City to Robert and Esther (Eberhardt) Williams. She worked for many years as a clerk at Dollar General. She enjoyed playing bingo, walking her dog and talking with her friends. Her greatest pleasure was spending time coloring with her grandchildren. She was a good cook and her boys loved her spaghetti, breakfast burritos, and biscuit and gravy casserole. She also enjoyed watching her soaps, especially General Hospital. Survivors include- Son- Daniel Williams and Laura Groves of Herrin Son- Jesse Quertermous and Amelia Casey of Anna 4 grandchildren Sister- Zola Van and husband Jack of Herrin Sister- Joy Kee of Marion Beloved Pomeranian- “Rammey” She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband- Bobby Quertermous. Her wish was to be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at a place that was special to her like Garden of the Gods.
