Gayle Kirby

Goreville- Opal Gayle Kirby, age 92, of Goreville, formerly of Anna, passed away at 4:42pm on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Gayle was born in Marion on August 18, 1927, the daughter of Francis and Carrie (Foster) Casper. She married Harold “Bud” Kirby in Goreville on March 27, 1946. Together, they shared thirty years of marriage, until his passing on July 28, 1976.

Prior to her retirement, Gayle had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Choate Mental Health Center in Anna.

Survivors include-

Son- Gregory Kirby and wife Jerry of Valparaiso, Indiana

Son- Nick Kirby and wife Chris of Gorham, Maine

Daughter- Peggy Carroll and husband Bill of Goreville

Eight Grandchildren- Joseph Krysa and wife Michelle

     Vanessa Boyler and husband Sean

     G. Logan Kirby

     Elise Kirby

     Meredith Files

     Kyle Kirby and wife Elizabeth

     Clinton Carroll

     Megan Carroll Hope and husband Jack

Five Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister- Delores Culp, and brother- Buddy Casper.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville.
