Gene Miller

Marion-Robert “Gene” Miller, 87, passed away at 5am on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his home. Gene was born on June 19, 1928 in Benton to Roy and Jennie (Wayman) Miller.  He married Dorcas Dunbar on July 2, 1954 in Ina.  She survives of Marion. Gene served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  He was a longtime active member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Marion. Gene enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include: Wife-Dorcas Miller of Marion Daughter-Gina Kay Kelley of Marion Granddaughter-Megan Dalton Grandson-Nickolas Kelley Brother-Paul W. Miller of West Frankfort Great grandchildren-Haley Dalton and Brad Dalton Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Miller and Leroy Miller and special sister in law, Kay Miller. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 12:00pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
