Glen Sanders

Glen Sanders MARION-Glen Sanders, 86, of Marion, passed away at 6:00 AM, Monday, June 20, 2005 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Freedom Cemetery, south of Marion with Pastor Dale Barnhurst officiating. There will be no visitation. Blue Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Sanders was born on June 15, 1919 in Unionville, Iowa to Zora and Maud (McKinley) Sanders. He married Jeanette Woods on October 1, 1940 in Waukon, Iowa, she preceded him in death on November 29, 2004. Survivors include daughter, Knaldean Kelton of Creal Springs; son, Duane Sanders of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Rodney Sanders; two brothers; and one sister. Mr. Sanders worked as a mechanic for the State of Iowa. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada, Iowa. He loved to garden, help his friends and neighbors, and he will be remembered for his sense of humor. He will be missed by all.
