Harry "O" Olson

August 9, 1942 — March 29, 2015

Johnston City-Harry “O” Olson, 72, passed away at 11:54am on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home. Harry “O” was born on August 9, 1942 in Chicago to Harry Eric Milton and Eolis Olson.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Harry “O” owned and operated The Little Paper.  He was a popular columnist, an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and an active member of the American Legion, VFW and Shriners. Survivors include his wife, Deborah; daughter, Tracy Studer and husband, David of Herrin; sons, Jason Olson and wife, Lori of Marion, Clayton Olson and wife, Stacy of Marion and Samuel Olson of Marion; six grandchildren, Stepheney Studer of Herrin, Matalin Olson of Marion, Laney Olson of Marion, Alexandria Olson of Marion, Austin Olson of Bullhead City, AZ and Makenzie Olson of Marion; sisters, Linda Rhodes and Terry Olson; brothers, Robert Olson and Bill Olson along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Eric Milton Olson; mother, Eolis Jones; son, Eric Olson and brother, Jim Olson. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Military Rites will be performed at 5pm by the Marion VFW Post 1301 with assistance from the National Guard. Family and close friends are asked to meet at the American Legion after the visitation. Memorial donations are suggested to AmVets Chapter 31 or the Bolden Cemetery Association and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
