Hazel Wheeler

Marion-Hazel D. Wheeler, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Parkway Manor. Hazel was born on August 29, 1924 in Johnston City to George and Ester (Moses) Davis.  She married Robert D. Wheeler on September 5, 1942 in Cape Girardeau.  He preceded her in death on May 29, 1981. Hazel worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at the Williamson County Courthouse.  She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include: Daughter-Valerie Lapp of Plano, TX Sister-Laura Nabazas of Palo Hills Brother-John Davis of Big Horn, WY Granddaughter-Kristina Crowell Great grandsons-Baylor Crowell and Jude Crowell Son in law-Greg Lapp Grandson in law-Brian Crowell She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; two children; two brothers, Carl Davis and Pete Davis and five sisters, Nancy Birkey, Harriet Davis, Elva Spotts, Leah Rogers and Catherine Trapani A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10am at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating.  Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
