Helen Laur

Carterville-Helen Reba Laur, 96, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Helen was born on October 14, 1920 in Saline County to Pete T. and Louella (Berry) Baker.  She married John Harry Moyer on November 20, 1941.  They spent 44 years together working and traveling the whole U.S.  After his death, she married Byford Laur. Helen was living at Villas of Holly Brooke and had many wonderful caregivers and friends.  She attended Third Baptist Church in Marion. Helen is survived by nieces, Rose Lee Raley of Marion, Dorothy (Charles) Wall of Harrisburg and Carole Rosenthal of Wood River; great nieces and nephews, Lesa (Steve) Moskowitz, Mark (Angela) Rosenthal, Julia and Mary Rosenthal, Kathy (Don) DeMario, Gregory (Vicki) Wall, Mike (Scarla) Raley and Randy (Lynn) Raley.  Also surviving are great nephews and great nieces and one very special friend, Reba Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Harrisburg.  Visitation will also be on Monday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
