Helen Shadowens

Galatia-Helen Jodene Shadowens, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Billy Dean Shadowens Four children: Darlene Kesler and husband Gary Stanley Shadowens and wife Diana Shelby Anderson and husband Eddie Sheila McGhee and husband Jimmy Grandchildren: Jerry A. Hart Four step grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Andrea and John Felicia and husband Shannon Doss of Grand Forks, ND Tracy Shadowens of Johnston City Kendra Shadowens and Steve Lindle of Galatia Billy Shadowens and Rachel Brown-Rask of Corinth Shane Shadowens of Marion Destiny Shadowens of Marion Donny Anderson and wife Anh of Dothan, AL Jamie Anderson and wife Heather of Galatia Melissa Anderson and James Biggs II of Galatia Cody Anderson and wife Amilia of Galatia Christy Crain and husband Dale of Paulton Great grandchildren: Haley, Aaron, Holly, Andrew, Harmony, Melody and Alexander Doss of Grand Fork, ND Tara and Lora Clark of Carrier Mills Trevor and Nick Harvel of Galatia Hannah and Josh Reed Teddy and Olivia Anderson Starr and Melisse Shadowens Clayton and Austin Anderson Caleigh Ragan, Hudson Farley and Waylon Biggs Emma Grace Anderson Alyssa Bozarth Dalton Crain Jesse T. Hart and Eric Kesler Two great-great grandchildren Sisters: Annabelle McCalla of Marion Jesseline Hart of Pittsburg Lifetime family friend Willie Clark Several nieces and nephews Helen met Billy at Scottsboro Church of God and was married August 26, 1950.  Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She loved reading, fishing, playing cards and teaching the word of God.  Helen was loved and will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond Frey, Luther Lawrence Frey and Trecil Frey and daughter, Teresa Dawn Shadowens Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Johnny Burnett and Rev. Linda Burnett officiating.  Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
