Irene Pierce

Odin-Irene Pierce, 91, formerly of Marion, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Odin Healthcare Center. Irene was born on January 25, 1927 in Pittsburg to Henry and Betty (Patterson) Edwards. She married Rev. Frank Pierce in Pittsburg on July 20, 1946.  He preceded her in death on December 27, 2011. Irene loved to sing and play the piano and was an amazing cook. God was first in her life and family was second and she served beside her husband in several local Methodist churches. Irene is survived by her children, Howard L. and Denise Pierce of Cape Girardeau and Patricia Louise and Kevin Uchitjil of Odin; grandchildren, Kenneth and Stephanie Dillingham, Kristopher and Jennifer Dillingham and Jay and Angela Pierce; great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Kyle, Rhett, Reece, Ashlyn, Audrey and Avary Dillingham and Emmett and Oliver Pierce and great-great grandchildren,  Warren and Gwendolyn Haltom She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and all her brothers and sisters A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Kenneth Dillingham and Rev. Kristopher Dillingham officiating and Eulogy by J. Michael Pierce. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crab Orchard Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
