Jacqueline R. Neikirk

Jacqueline R. Neikirk, age 88, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at her home in Herrin, Illinois.

Jacqueline was born May 06, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Jack and Marion (Winterberg) Gershon. She married the love of her life, Harley F. Neikirk on April 22, 1955 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1995. Prior to her retirement, Jackie had worked as a registered nurse. Jackie was very active in the Church of the Nazarene Marion, IL since moving to the area in 1979.?? She especially enjoyed teaching older adults Sunday School and was very active in bible studies and small groups.?? When she was not working in home health caring for others, she would be helping with the family business, reading or knitting.??

Survivors include her two children- David F. Neikirk (Mitzi) of Indianapolis, IN, Joel A. Neikirk (Danette) of Miami, FL; Grandchildren, Casey Hilton of West Frankfort, IL, Savanna Neikirk of Indianapolis, IN, Jared Neikirk, Alex Neikirk and Katelyn Neikirk all of Miami, FL

The family will hold a reception meal beginning at 12:30pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion. Memorial services will follow at 2:30pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion with Rev. Bobby Parker officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
