West Frankfort- Janet Joyce Baker, 81, of West Frankfort, passed away at 12:35 AM, Saturday, September 22, 1018 at Herrin Hospital. Janet was born on January 31, 1937 in Red Oak, IA to Borden D. and Lois (Carleton) Neiman. She worked many years at the Holiday Inn in Marion and later on as a nurse’s aide in home health care. She was a Baptist and attended Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, spending time at home with her family and watching Rachel Ray and CSI on TV. She knitted afgans for each of her kids. When she was younger she enjoyed camping outdoors and “wind therapy” while riding motorcycles. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include- Son- Jeffrey Baker and wife Deborah of West Frankfort Son- James D. “Jim” Baker and wife Mary of Marion Son- Gary L. Baker and wife Beverly of Marion Daughter- Cindy Brotherton and husband Vern of West Frankfort Son- Charles Scott Baker of West Frankfort Fourteen Grandchildren Thirty Great Grandchildren Three great great grandchildren Sister- JoAnn Mizel of Fort Myers, FL Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Kenneth Baker, grandson- Shawn Baker and one brother. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. Rev. Chris Cutsinger will officiate. Inurnment will be in Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorial arrangements were made at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
