Jefferson Autie Hightower

MARION-Autie Hightower, , of Marion, passed away at 6:45 PM, Monday, January 31, 2005 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Gordon Lambert officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery, Vienna. Mr. Hightower was born on May 11, 1910 in Johnson County, Illinois to Jefferson Rich and Eva (O`Neal) Hightower. He married Lucille Holmes on December 23, 1933 in Saline County, Illinois, she preceded him in death on February 28, 2003. Survivors include daughter, Nancy Green of Anna; granddaughters, Cindy Green of Carbondale, and Kathy and Richard McFadden of Marion; great grandchildren, Christopher and Brandy Hunt and Kelly Deaton; and great great grandchildren, Hailey Patricia Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Bill Hightower; sisters, Verna Hightower and Zeldah Simpson; and twin brothers, Raymond and Claymon Hightower. Mr. Hightower worked in refrigeration service for many years. He was a Past Deacon of Second Baptist Church in Marion.
