Joyce Rosine Anthony

Joyce Rosine Anthony, age 93, formerly of Thompsonville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

Joyce was born December 22, 1930 in West Frankfort, IL, a daughter of Estel and Lola (Melvin) Bradley. She married the love of her life, Roscoe E. Anthony on December 21, 1947 in Benton, IL. He passed away December 9, 2011. Joyce was an amazing cook, loving mother and devoted wife.

She is survived by two children, Richard (Diana) Anthony of Benton, IL, Jo Ann (Kim) Burke of Mt. Vernon, IN; two grandchildren, Mike (Karen) Burke and Rebecca Woods (Jason Prince); five great-grandchildren, Rachel Burke, Nathan Burke, Adam Burke, Morgan (Josh) Howard, and Nicholas Woods; one great-great-grandchild, Marshall Alan Howard; four siblings, James Estel (Brenda) Bradley of Logan, IL, Garry (Cindy) Bradley of Benton, IL, Betty Reckinger of West Frankfort, IL, and Carolyn Kirk of Logan, IL; and a special cousin, Gwyn Winemiller. She is preceded in death by her husband Roscoe E. Anthony; her parents, Estel James and Lola Bradley; and two sisters, Vesta Smith and Barbara Meacham.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, 1:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
