June Hampton

June Hampton, age 99, of Pinckneyville, Illinois,  formerly of Marion, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

June was born June 21, 1922 in Carterville, Illinois, a daughter of Sam and Dona (Day) Hampton. Prior to her retirement, June had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary in the Marion area. She was a member of the Marion First Baptist Church. June was also a proud charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She is survived by her niece, Phyllis Manker of Manteno, IL, niece Mary Ann (Don) Badgley of Steeleville, IL, niece Joie Gulley of Pinckneyville, IL, nephew Robert (Linda) Ward of Lafayette, LA, and several great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dona (Day) Hampton; two sisters, Mildred Ward and Virginia Craig; and her Infant Sister, Mary Lee Hampton.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 4th, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, 11:30 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville with Dr. Donald Badgley officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Pinckneyville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund for the residents or the Marion First Baptist Church.
