Leona “Mae” (Parton) Johns, 80, passed away Friday, March 16th, 2018 in McHenry, IL.
Mae was born September 8th, 1937 in Williamson County to Ralph and Flossie (Davis) Parton. She married Noah Johns Jr. February 19th, 1955 in Paulton, IL.
Mae enjoyed watching cooking shows and the Chicago Blackhawks. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and she especially enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter, Addison.
Survivors include; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” (Frank) Moon of McHenry; granddaughter, Melanie (Ryan) Choate of Homer Glen; great-granddaughter, Addison Choate; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Flossie Parton, Ralph and Rebecca Joyce (Ingram) Parton, husband “JR” of 59 years, dearest sister Wretha “Sis” Kim, and many sisters-in law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 24th from 11 am to 1 pm at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Services will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev. R. G. Null officiating. Burial will follow in Busby Cemetery.
