Marjorie Ward

The Villages, FL-Marjorie L Ward, 77, formerly of Goreville, beloved wife, mother and grandmother joined our Lord on May 8, 2016. She was born in Mt. Vernon on August 24, 1938, to Roger and Gladys (Burnett) Eastman. Margie graduated from Goreville in 1956 and married her soulmate Harley E. Ward on June 9th. A truer love story was never written. Margie was a beloved mother to Michael Keith and Paul Earl and had a long and illustrious career with GTE. In addition to her devotion to family and work, Margie was an accomplished watercolor artist. She generously served as a docent and volunteered with the LEAA and contributed to the creation of the exterior mural. Survived by husband Harley; son Michael Keith (Jennifer); grandchildren Brian, Kerry and Paul, as well as her sister Linda Sue Hancock (Donnie), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Margie touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Paul. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1pm at the Methodist Church in Goreville with Rev. Alan Milligan and Pastor Doug Atkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11am until the time of service at the church.
