Mark Allen Belt

Mark Allen Belt, age 64, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Illinois, passed away Sunday September 11,2022 at his home in Colorado.

Mark was born in Elgin, Illinois to Anderson and Ruth (Anderson) Belt on April 5,1958. He attended Eastview Jr. High and then Larkin High School. After high school he trained to become and became a commercial and residential painter. He was married to Judy Olinger.  

Mark loved Colorado so much he made his home there. Mark loved camping and fishing in the mountains. He had many “secret places” that he would go kick back, even pan for gold. Many of his friends from Elgin came to live out there also. He had many friends that would visit, and he would show them his Colorado.

Mark was a loving, funny, humble and caring man with a beautiful heart. He loved God and he loved his family.

Sister- Debra (Dean) Taborn of Goreville IL

Nephew- Dean (Kerry) Taborn Jr and grand nephews Kaden and Jace of Harrisburg IL

Grand Niece- Taylor Taborn of Wadesville IN

Niece-DeAnna Marsh and grand niece Alyssa Marsh of Chatham IL

Nephew- Ty ( Cydney) of Marion, IL

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson (Andy) and Ruth, one brother- Anthony, and a special friend- Mary.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Busby Cemetery in Goreville with Pastor Joel Gray officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with final arrangements. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
